thing #5

The new generation cannot imagine themselves without technology.  Children use iPhones, smart phones, computers and whatever technology is available out there. Even If they are seeing the new technology for the first time, they are comfortable using it. I remember myself about 10 years ago when I was trying to write an email to my sister who was in another country.  My confusion with computers was so big that I wanted to cry. Later on, little by little I learned how to send pictures, share the videos and once I even created my own avatar on my yahoo messenger. I find myself learning things only because I have to. My lack of knowledge of technology was only hurting me, now since I have chosen to become a teacher I must keep up with the technology of the 21st sentries’ children.  The School 2.0 is teaching future teachers to stay in touch with new technology. It gives ideas on class setting, lesson plans, indoor and outside activities, crafts, projects, power points and more. With these things the future teachers will have a chance to practice on many different sites. The broader the information pool, the more work that has to be done.  As technology becomes greater more information can be stored in thinner and smaller compartments like a microchip. The computer has become so small and compact what took a whole warehouse to store fits in the palm of your hand now.
The school 2.0 helps teachers to keep student’s interest up on whatever subject is being studied. Students playing games for example,” Red Fish” helps first graders practice their addition and subtraction or a student can create the characters from the stories that they are reading on that week. Teachers must be prepared to keep their students motivated. Whatever it takes to help students to achieve the school curriculum and reach their goal this needs to be done.  As a future teacher I want to learn as much as possible and have as much information as I can get to try my best to keep my students excited about school.
